the Shalom community Development project,, Youth conference took place at the office promises on Saturday 26th June 2010, Namutere Trading Center,, 21 youth attended the hotly participated meeting with the theme Imagine an HIV free Generation, It begins with you. the meeting was purely an open discussion and youth shared ideas about the deadly virus and committed themselves to start the HIV free generation campaign the community. youth will lead this battle for the future and are determined to share with friends, and family members the issue discussed in the meeting, small groups were very vital for one to one sharing especially for those who have family members living with the virus
shalom project have 40 registered children for the child project, the most of whom are orphans, we have plans of setting up an orphanage in future but now we help the kids in their respective needs socially, spiritually mentally, kids like this one need clothing, feeding, health care, education and good shelter,,, hope is lost for many of them. shalom "giving hope and future" to the disadvantaged in our society for sustainable development, peace to every being is our priority. you can sponsor one of these kids in education and daily upkeep for only US Dollars 25$ per month. you can also donate clothes, play items, mosquito nets, shoes and other house hold items for these kids,,,, the project plans to purchase a piece of land 4 acres for the child children center, it will cost us only us dollars 3000$ any contributions to wards the children center contact shalomdvp608@gmail.com

Shalom kids, during a Saturday reading program, the project provides scholastic material and reading books to the orphans, Juliet 16 center helps the young kids in English, however we need volunteers with the child care program.
Bee Keeping for honey production was started and we expect to harvest end of june,,, however we still have to help the farmers to find market for the honey,, Patrick and David are the volunteers in the bee project,,
Some of the project kids during a sunday school at a local church, we have been able to get for the kis sunday school books for ages, 5-18,, we train 1 kid to lead others in our leadership development strategy for the local children.
shalom poultry program, the program started with 100 hens, they are now laying eggs, we plan to form a second group of 10 farmers for phase 2 with about 500 hens, poultry is a very sustainable project since the hens can meet the costs after 6month when they start laying eggs
shalom food security team one of the farmers groups which have formed to booster food production for shalom food 24-7 program, we give technical skills in modern farming, food storage for future use and plan to help the farmers access agriculture loans.
