food security

in recent years there has been this idea of people in the community we work in saving money little by little in a financial organisation so they can borrow in form of soft loans. the experience has been that they sell their agricultural products to save some money and this was an expoerience that prompted us to think through, alot of this people are not employed but they do farming for their living, once they harvest their crops they sell them so that they can save the money , yes this is a good idea but it didnt work foir them last season because there was a drought and people had to borrow money to buy food and at this point because of the drought the food was very espensive so the money could not buy enough food. so this season we have mmobilized people to farm and save their food and keep farming as they save the food and incase ony of the families is dying of hunger in the group they can buy at al ow price, and incase of drought they are able to have food for themselves , we want ...

Women's empowerment this month

WHY SHALOM

Shalom Namutere Project  is a Non-Governmental, Nonprofit making Community-Based Mission Organization established in 2009 to cater to the less fortunate in society (the poor, both absolutely poor and relatively poor) to provide the most essential/basic needs of life such as food, Shelter, clothing, education, health services, empowering the community, establishing a decision-making system, and create opportunities for sustainable development. After one year of intense engagement with issues on poverty and development at Hald Internasjonale Center in Norway, new knowledge was gained concerning poverty reduction and sustainable development for the community in line with the Millennium Development Goals.
